Watermelon

Here is a miniature watermelon and slices I made recently for my Etsy shop

Nothing says Summer like watermelon!

I also use the tiny little slices to make earrings.

I love the little green stripes on these!

Mmmm Cheesecake

A little, 12th scale cheesecake set for you. I don't actually like
cheesecake in real life, but I imagine plenty of dolls would enjoy it!

I love constructing dollhouse miniature cheesecakes with all the different slices of fruit.

Here are a few I made ages ago that eventually found new homes.

Feature: Acorn Trail

I found a pure miniature delight on Etsy recently. I know these aren't
traditionally a gardener's friend, but which dollhouse garden wouldn't look
even cuter with one of these tiny creatures hidden within it?

These miniature snails are the creation of Acorn Trail who you can find on Etsy.

I just can't get over the tiny details on the shells
and the adorable, translucent bodies. How can a creature
I truly don't care for in real life be so enticing in miniature?

Summer Flowers

Here is a mini quilt (not a dollhouse miniature) I made a while ago that feels particularly apt now Summer is officially here. We even had a weekend of good weather recently - although it's now gone grey and overcast again. This is Britain after all.

This design was my own, hand-sewn using English paper piecing. I really enjoyed how intricate it was.

There are a few insects hidden about the place.

And a few mice!

And lots of summer flowers. Here's hoping for a bit more sunshine in the weeks to come.

Orange Summer Jelly

Speaking of Summer, here is my latest dollhouse miniature, a very summery orange jelly.

And with a penny for scale.

Here's hoping the weather is good enough to enjoy some refreshing orange jelly for dessert. It's been raining and blowing a gale here for the first part of the week. Wonderful!

Blog post share: Social Media for Artists = 5 Tips + 5 Favorites by St├ęphanie Kilgast

Thought I'd share a very helpful blog post by St├ęphanie Kilgast aka PetitPlat. Not only a very talented miniaturist, but clearly good at the old social media too. If you run an online shop, you should read this!

Now I need to learn to follow some of this advice a bit more myself!
